weather和climate如何区分？

首先，weather 的意思是“天气”，指一个地区在短时间内的气象情况。例如：

1.What’s the weather like today?

今天天气如何？

2.Several flights were cancelled owing to bad weather.

由于天气恶劣，有几个航班被取消了。

3.Whatever the weather, he sticks out walking outdoors.

无论天气好坏，他总坚持到户外散步。

4.Some plants flag in hot, dry weather.

一些植物在干旱的天气里会枯萎。

另外，还需要注意的是weather为不可数名词，所以不能在前面加不定冠词，但是weather还有一个特殊用法，weather虽然是不可数名词，但在表示“各种各样的天气”，或“不论哪种天气”等类表达时，，weather要用复数。如：

5.We go out in all weathers.

什么天气我们都外出。

6.Football is played in all weathers, including rain and snow.

我们可以在各种天气下玩橄榄球，包括雨天和雪天。

7.Rules in this Part shall be complied with in all weathers.

本规则各条在各种天气条件下都应遵守。

另外一个词climate 一般翻译为“气候”更为合适，climate一般指的是某地区比较长的时间，如一季的天气状况。

8.These two regions differ greatly in climate.

这两个地区气候差异很大。

9.He began to season the arid climate in the Middle East.

他开始适应了中东的干热气候。

10.We are all victims of climate change.

我们都是气候变化的受害者。

11.What should we do about climate change?

面对气候变化，我们应当做什么？
