The customs of my hometown are part of Chinese culture, and every place has its own unique customs. My hometown is a small village, and the customs there are very special.

Every year during the Spring Festival, we follow the customs of our hometown by pasting couplets, eating dumplings, and setting off firecrackers. Pasting couplets is an essential part, and we will stick the prepared couplets on the door and red paper on the windows, symbolizing a prosperous new year. Eating dumplings is also essential, and we put various fillings inside the dumplings. The person who bites into a dumpling with a coin is considered the luckiest, representing a year of good fortune. Setting off firecrackers is also necessary, with the sound of firecrackers symbolizing bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new.

In addition to these traditional customs, we also participate in various activities organized by the village, such as folk performances and opera singing. The folk performances include lion dances, dragon dances, drumming, and other traditional forms of performance, which are very lively. Opera singing is the favorite part for us young people. The village invites opera troupes to perform various traditional operas, allowing us to enjoy a visual feast.

Through the customs of my hometown, I feel the charm of traditional culture and understand the wisdom of our ancestors. I hope to learn more about the customs of other regions, making my life more fulfilling and colorful.
