We live close to the church.

They sat close together.

He came close to losing his temper.

Tom and I were really close when we were in high school.

The secret must be closely guarded.

He is looking at the bill closely.

closely

The crowd closely watch the players' every move as the clock winds down.

He was standing close to the door.

We followed close(ly) behind him.

We were so closely packed in the elevator that I could hardly move.

She listened closely while he read.

He closely studied this problem.

The two events are closely connected.

He threw the ball high into the air.

They spoke highly of his behaviour.

The dentist asked me to open wide.

He is widely read.
