1. 表示抽象意义的“欢乐”或“高兴”等，是不可数名词; 表示具体意义的“使人高兴的人或事”，是可数名词。指比较强烈的欢乐情绪，语气弱于 rapture 而强于 pleasure。多指在拥有、获得或期待那些美好或极欲得到的事物时的愉快心情,尤适于表达根深蒂固、几乎疯狂的喜悦之情

比较：

它令我非常高兴。

正：It is a great joy to me.

正：It gives me great joy.

The game was a joy to watch.

这比赛看起来真开心。
