时间状语从句指用来表示时间，修饰主句的从句，时间状语从句虽然引导词数量不多，但最常见最易学，最容易混淆，所以经常成为考试考点，本文总结了时间状语使用时需要注意的几个知识点:

1.引导时间状语从句的引导词有：①表示某个时刻发生的动作：when、while、as、once ②表示某个时刻之前发生的动作：before、until

③表示某个时刻之后发生的动作：after、since

2. when引导从句时，主从句的动作有先有后，也可以同时进行,从句的动作可以是持续性的，也可以是短暂的。

eg. When I go to the cinema, the movie had already started. （主先从后）（短暂性）

When I watched movie, I used to eat ice cream. (同时) （持续性）

When the movie ended, the people went back. （从先主后）

3. while侧重主从句动作的对比，且从句的动词必须是持续性的。

eg. While we were chatting she was reading comic．

4. as引导从句时侧重主从句动作同时或几乎同时进行，从句的动作可以是持续性的，也可以是短暂的。

eg. Sometimes I watch TV as I am having breakfast．

5. 关于when的固定搭配：

①…was/were doing…when…（正在做…突然）

②…was/were about to do…when…（刚要做…突然）

③…was/were on the point of doing…when…(刚要做…突然)

④…had just done…when….(刚一…就)

⑤Hardly/Scarcely had…done…when…(刚一…就)
