1. Oh boy! 天啊！

这句话跟男生有什么关系呢？一点关系也没有！它只是个表达情绪的语助词，任何人都可以用它来表示「天啊！」的心情。

• Oh boy! Maggie looked so pretty at the wedding.

• 天啊！Maggie 在婚礼上看起来美极了！

• Oh boy! Today is not my day!

• 天啊！我今天真衰！

2. come by 取得

come by 除了「拜访」的意思，还有另外一个意思是「取得」。大家可以这样背：先去拜访才能取得想要的结果！

• A good job is hard to come by.

• 要得到好工作并不容易。

• How did you come by that scar on your forehead?

• 你额头上的疤是怎么来的？

3. every now and then 有时

这句词组相当于 “once in a while” 或是 “from time to time“，也可以说是口语中「三不五时」的意思。

• I visit my grandparents every now and then.

• 我有时候会去拜访我的爷爷奶奶。

• We still see each other every now and then.

• 我们有时候还是会约出来见面。

4. out of question 毫无疑问

这句词组等于 beyond question，就是「肯定」的意思。值得注意的是，如果加了一个 “the” 变成 “out of the question“，意思就变成「不可能 (发生) 的 / 不被允许的」囉！大家可以把这个词组打颗星星，因为它在各大英文检定考试都经常出现喔！

• It's out of question that Bella will marry Edward.

• Bella 一定会嫁给 Edward。

• Asking my father for money was completely out of the question.

• 跟我爸爸要钱根本是无稽之谈。

5. You can say that again. 你说的没错！

这句话的意思不是字面上的「你可以再说一遍！」，而是赞同的意思，表示完全同意对方的想法。

• A: I think Austin Butler is the most handsome man in the world.

• B: You can say that again.

• A: 我认为 Austin Butler 是全世界最帅的人。

• B: 说得好！

6. stand somebody up 放某人鸽子

stand up 是起立的意思，但是 stand somebody up 是指一个人没有按时去赴约，常用于约会时候放约会对象的鸽子。例如："Don't stand me/him/her/them/us up!"

• Anna stood me up yesterday for the third straight time. This is getting ridiculous.

• Anna 昨天是第三次放我鸽子了。这真的太夸张了。

• Eddie was afraid his fiancée might have stood him up because she was three hours late for the wedding.

• Eddie 担心他被未婚妻放鸽子，因为婚礼已经开始三个小时了，她却还没出现。

7. The rest is history. 接下来的大家都知道了

这句话若直翻就是「剩下的都是历史」，想必很多人都会一头雾水吧！这句话常用于介绍一个人的生平或是事件原委，当讲到一个大家都知道的段落时，就可以接"the rest is history"，告诉听众接下来的事情大家都知道了。

• A talent scout spotted Marilyn Monroe at the airport, and the rest is history.

• 一名星探在机场看到玛丽莲梦露，而接下来想必大家都已经知道了。

8. have a crush on somebody 迷恋某人

crush 是「撞击」的意思，所以可以想成某个人闯进了你的心里。Do you have a crush on _______? 就可以解读成闲聊八卦时常说的「欸你是不是喜欢谁？」

• Melody has a crush on the captain of the basketball team.

• Melody 非常喜欢篮球队队长。
