核心词汇habit用法

1. 表示做某事的习惯，其后通常要接 of doing sth作定语，通常不接不定式。如：

He has the irritating habit of biting his nails.

他有咬指甲的讨厌习惯。

I make a habit of never lending money to strangers. 我自己立下个规矩，从来不把钱借给生人。

I've got into the habit of turning on the TV as soon as I get home.

我习惯了一回家就打开电视。

I'm trying to break the habit of staying up too late.

我正试图改掉熬夜的习惯。

A good way to break the habit of eating too quickly is to put your knife and fork down after each mouthful.

2. 注意以下有用搭配：

(1) 表示具有做某事的习惯，通常与have, be in搭配。如：

Is it in the habit of biting people? 你的狗咬人吗?

He has in the habit of rising early. 他有早起的习惯。

I'm not in the habit of letting strangers into my apartment.

我不习惯让陌生人进我家。

They were in the habit of giving two or three dinner parties a month...

I’ve got into the habit of switching on the TV as soon as I get home. 我已养成一到家就打开电视机的习惯。

I had got in the habit of going around with bare feet

我已经习惯光脚。

Try to get into the habit of saving your work regularly

I got into the habit of calling in on Gloria on my way home.

3. 表示“出于习惯”，一般用介词out of habit。如：

I only do it out of habit .

Many people add salt to their food out of habit, without even tasting it first.

I sat in my old seat purely out of habit. 我完全是习惯性地坐到了我的老位子上。

有时也用from the habit。如：
