学会寻找赞美点。只有找到对方贴切的闪光的赞美点，才能使赞美显得真诚，而不虚伪。
寻找赞美点的方法如下：
（1）外在的具体的。如：衣服打扮（穿着、领带、手表、眼镜、鞋子等）头发、身体、皮肤、眼睛、眉毛等等。外在的具体的，也可以称为：硬件。
（2）内在的抽象的。如：品格、作风、气质、学历、经验、气度、心胸、兴趣爱好、特长、做的事情、处理问题的能力，等等。内在的抽象的可以称为：软件。
（3）间接的关联的。如：籍贯、工作单位、邻居、朋友、职业、用的物品、养的宠物、下级员工、亲戚关系的人，等等。这一种可以称为：附件。附件具有间接赞美的作用。
2.善于找到对方真正的闪光点。闪光点是对方独一无二的、无可比拟的优势，这样的赞美才能讲到别人心里去。而且闪光点越是具体，效果越好。比如，你赞美对方很漂亮，就显得空洞。究竟漂亮在哪里？是眼睛还是身材，眼睛又是如何的漂亮，越是具体感觉越是真实，效果会越好！
3.生人看特征，熟人看变化。第一次见面，寻找最闪光的特征，第二次见面学会寻找对方的新的变化，这样赞美对方表示你对对方的每一点改变都很关注、看得见，对方会非常感动。
4.逢物加价，遇人减岁。赞美对方物品时，适当的提高价钱，表示物超物值，听者会觉得自己有眼光没有吃亏，而如果一味的贬低对方物品，对方会觉得你不尊重他。对于成人，适当的把对方讲得年轻一些，精神一些，听者感觉自己显得年轻，会感觉舒服。
