新年到英语达人一定要搞懂的一个热门知识

一转眼就过年了，今年是猪年，那么猪年用英语怎么说呢？大家是不是脱口而出pig year呢？

其实还真不是这样说！如果你执意这样说，相信大家也懂，如同一句：你是我大大的朋友，谁不懂？只是句子颜值低，不地道而已。

猪年的正确说法应该是“year of the Pig”，或者是“year of the Boar”。

十二生肖的英语： rat (鼠), ox (牛), tiger (虎), rabbit (兔), dragon (龙), snake (蛇), horse (马), goat (羊), monkey(猴), rooster (鸡), dog (狗), pig (猪)。

有些人看到这边会疑惑，鼠不是mouse吗，那为什么说鼠年的时候不用mouse呢？

因为这是一种语言习惯，好比吃老鳖，没有几个人会说吃王八；狗拿耗子多管闲事，没有几个人会说狗拿老鼠多管闲事；所以有些属相的单词是不用的！譬如：鼠——mouse；牛——cow；羊——sheep；鸡——chicken。

所以，大家花点时间记住12生肖的单词就好。

生肖年还有一种更广为人知的说法是本命年，也可以说成是“animal year”或者是“zodiac year”。

如果想问别人是什么生肖的，可以怎么说呢？

-My Chinese zodiac/animal sign is Pig. 我属猪。

或者可以说成：

A: What Chinese zodiac/animal sign were you born under?

B: I was born under/in the year of the Pig.
