（1）raise 及物动词，意为“筹集，使升高，饲养”。过去式raised, 过去分词raised.该词说明主语发出的动作是要作用于其他事物的，往往有使物体达到其应有的高度的含义。可用于被动语态。例如：

Please raise your hands！

请举手。

Their family raised a lot of corn.

他们家种了许多玉米。

（2）rise 不及物动词，意为“上升，起床，升起”。过去式rose, 过去分词 risen.主语常为物。无被动语态。例如：

The sun rises in the east.

太阳从东方升起。

Tony had risen early and gone to the cottage to work.
