八年级英语下unit1-4复习讲义

重点语法归纳：

一. if和unless 引导的条件句

   If 引导的条件句，主句用现在时，从句也用现在时；主句用将来时，从句用现在时表将来。

   If you cool water, it turns into ice.

   You will find out its meaning if you look it up in the dictionary.

 Unless= if…not

 You will be late for school unless you leave now.   除非你现在就离开去学校，要不你就会迟到。= You will be late for school if you don’t leave now.

二.形容词的用法

  1.形容词用作定语；

The cartoons also have a long history.  这些卡通片有很长的历史

形容词置于名词前，作定语。

2.形容词用作表语；

  3.形容词用作宾语补足语）；

     两种句型 it is + adj+ to do….; be +adj+ to +verb.

注意:形容词的位置：形容词修饰名词时放在名词的前面，如：a clever boy

2. It lets sunlight in and keeps much of the warmth from getting out.

keep …from doing sth. =prevent/stop…from doing sth.

  She put the potatoes into the salted water to keep them from turning black.

  warm→warmth      long→length      wide→width      deep→depth

3. The atmosphere around the Earth acts like the glass.

  act like 起类似于…的作用

  act as 充当、担任  A trained dog can act as a guide to a blind person.

4. Without it, Earth would be as cold and lifeless as the surface of the moon.

(not)as +形容词/副词原级+as: 与…(不)一样…

Tom is (not)as tall as Jim.  / I can run as fast/quickly as he.

My brother is not as old as me.

5. The burning and cutting down trees is making the green house effect worse because trees take inharmful gases.

  make sth +形容词比较级：使…变得更…    make our city more beautiful / make the life beter

  take in 吸收 Fish take in oxygen through their gills(鱼鳃).  /Trees can absorb water.

6. That is enough to reach all the way From Earth to moon.

  reach+地点 到达某地  They reached Paris on Sunday.      =get to/  arrive in(大地点)/at(小地点)

all the way 一路上、自始至终   He climbed all the way to the top of the tree. / We sing all the way home.

adj./adv. +enough +to do sth. 足够…做某事

He is old enough to take care of himself.  / I was fool enough to trust him.

She is strong enough to carry the heavy box.

7. Many of our habits cause pollution, especially…

  cause pollution/ floods/ earthquake/ damage/ an accident 造成污染、引发洪水/地震、造成损失/事故

  cause the level of the seas to rise  导致海平面上升        cause sb. trouble  给某人添麻烦
